Self help group (SHG) – Savings and Micro credit programme :

Integrated Project for Development of People (IPDP) has been promoting the Savings and credit program for the needy women in the slums and semi developed Areas, We have formed and promoted more than 1010 SHG’s (self-help groups) in various areas of Bangalore Urban District and Tiptur taluk in Tumkur District. Presently we are working in 30 slum areas and 5 hoblis of Tiptur Taluk.

We support and encourage the SHG’s by guiding them to manage and maintain their groups in good condition without default. Our staffs provide them the proper trainings on Group concepts and Maintenance of their Groups. In case the Group requires exposure and inputs, we organize the exposure visits to SHG Sangha. Each Staff members have been assigned with the specific numbers of groups like minimum 60 to maximum 80 groups. The main role of the coordinators is to visit the groups frequently and attend the monthly meetings.

If the group require loan, the coordinators inform the same to the office with the ready for linkage group details and do the follow ups for the loan process. Once the loan is disbursed, the coordinators follow the repayment process with the groups by collecting their EMI’s / installments and depositing in their Group accounts. Our coordinators mainly play the role of Facilitator between the groups and the ICICI BANK. We recommend minimum of Rs.1.5 lakh to a maximum of Rs.10 lakh per group to ICICI Bank. This year we facilitated the loan from ICICI Bank to the tune of Rs. 15 Crores to the SHG’s. From 2004 to 2019 the total loan disbursement was Rs. 91.21 crores.
